Saw it itn the latest Motot Trend---405 HP, 430 TQ. 0-6 in 4.4 on street tires smokin everything all the way through third! Lighter in weight than the current cast iron blown 4.6. Totally traction limited.
Custom block, custom crank, custom cams, custom oil pan, custom engine management, all other internal reciprocating assembly parts from 4.6. This engine has nothing in common with the existing V-10 but the number of cylinders. Built on O.T. by a group of engineers inside ford as an officially unfunded project from the parts bins.
These Engineers were miffed that they didn't get a shot at installing it in the GT but upper management went with the tested blown 4.6.
Upper management said to really like it, but it is a double up of marketing with th blown 4.6. Little chance for production.....ummm ok, whatever you guys say....you also have been talking about the 427 out of the other side of the mouth too...
Funny thing is, they are claiming in the 400's for HP and TQ, yet the car schreads tires, 9" rear diffs, T-56 trannys, clutches and with slicks would turn drive shafts into a pretzels. The present blown 4.6 doesn't do any of these things. A blown 4.6 with the Lightning pulleys and chip don't do that either.
I gave it a think for a while.....Ya think they may be understating the actual power output of the thing just by a smig?....maybe by well over a 220 HP/TQ or so? After all a Ford 9" is about the toughest thing going.....(Maybe they got a lot of......ummm.....axle hop....ummm... didn't set up the rear end right...ummm...had a faulty u joint????...yeah that's it!). 405 HP/430 TQ...yeah right...
