I have a 1985 Mustang GT hatch, 5.0, 5-speed with a few special factory options ( I think) rear spoiler, Recaro look-alike seats, 5.0 roller motor....etc. I need the rear hatch decal and the hood decal. The car is black and I see where you can order different color emblems for each. I have read where only "special" mustangs came out with the silver decal on the hood. Mine appears to be silver, but has faded VERY badly. How do i know if mine originally came out with silver. I am getting ready to sell this car, and want to replace the decals before its sold.

per the 1986 parts book, you are right, there was a silver one availible, but to my knowledge, they are not made any more, however, www.cal-mustang.com sells a template

Did it happen to say anything about it having to be a special edition. Check this link out http://www.graphic-express.com/ford_...mustang_gt.htm If you scroll down to the bottom is states "silver" for special edition cars only
