ok..im going to get a mustang in about 1 year and i'm not sure which one to get.. its either gonna be a 2002-2004 V6 or a '65-'69 that i would put a 5.0L in.. the only thing is that im probably gonna have to restore the older one, which is something i dont want to do. i could buy an already restored one, but i'm thinking that it would be a lot of money..
if i did get the V6, i'm gonna shoot to get 200whp.. would that be easy to do N/A?
what would u suggest.. old mustang or new mustang?????
its not the much more i had a friend that switched to a gt a couple years ago but i dont know how much but it wasnt bad, but he also had a clean record

The insurance should be the same or close to the same. I, personally, would go with the GT because it will be cheaper and easier to get to your rwhp goal with the GT, though it can be done with the V6 with just bolt on parts.

Engines are rated at a certain HP. My car out of the factory, for example, is 225hp. Of course there is not 225hp at the wheels. How much power is typically lost through all the accessories, pullies, and the other stuff. Is there a common percentage of power lost between all cars?
Also, is there a proper term for HORSEPOWER AT THE WHEELS? I thought it was BHP but I was told that it isn't.
*edit. Don't get a V6 unless it is a manual. I personally think they are very sluggish and not very fun.

Cheapest 02-04 V6 i found was 12,395...
i dunno about you guys but i can find one SWEET 65-69 already done up for that much...
Or...take the cash, buy something for cheap, and build it up...that way you have something special, that you know will work because you went through it yourself...and above all...its something you can claim as your own...

BHP = Brake Horsepower, or Base Horsepower
The correct term for at the wheels is RWHP (Rear Wheel Horsepower....if your car is Rear Wheel Drive)
And yea automatics is usually a 20% horsepower/tq loss throught he drivetrain, and manuals tend to be around 15%
