Okay help me out here. Im not as familiar with the rear suspension of my car as I would like to think I am. I recently completed some minor bolt on mods to my car and it is making some more power. Of special note is the addition of the drag radials which really helped out with my launch. Today was the first time I really nailed it. I have easily taken off over half a second. But I have a problem. When hammering second gear I get a loud pop in the rear floorboard. My friend rode with me and he thinks it is the pinion snubber slamming upward because I am getting more power to hook to the ground now. Does this sound right to you all?

Well for what it is worth I am going to go ahead and install my Granatelli upper and lower control arms tomorrow. Also the Steeda 48" SFC's...they are getting welded in at 400 pm provided I have my car back together.

Trans mount or control arm bushing i'd be willing to bet a beer on that

Have you checked your torque boxes?? I met a guy one time with a '93 Cobra who had a problem like that and when I looked under his car the torque boxes were cracked and starting to come apart! I guess if that is the problem you will find out when you put on the control arms...

On my 3rd stang...My new baby-2001 Gt, Mineral grey, o/r x-pipe, cold air intake, lowered. Just sold 88lx all eng mods...heads,intake,gears..etc..1st stang...heads,intake,cam,blower..never should have sold!! 11.75@115..I miss her!
May be cheaper to get a new Unibody . . . Look for a 4cyl or a six, since their TQBs are generally in MUCH better shape . . .
