Question Should i make a inline 4 to a V8?

Ok so i have been wanting a mustang coupe for the longest, and i been waiting for one to be on sale for about 6 month. Till today, because i spotted one. The only problem is that it ended up being a inline 4 and i wanted a v8 because im planing in making a fully moded stang. So should i buy it and swap it out or wait till i find another one. I mean they are HARD to come by here were i live. Which option would suit me more. By the way its a 92 nonhatch in good condition and wants 2,000 obo for it.

i think your better off waiting for the V8. once you have it you can just start modding it, you buy the 4 banger and your looking at swapping a motor and electrical parts, not to mention time and more money.

And if Mustangs are hard to come by there. Chances are finding a place to swap your motor may be difficult. It sucks...but id wait on it too

I say do the swap for a few reasons:

1) If you're going to mod the mustang, chances are, you're going to swap out most of the major driveline components anyway so why pay extra for stuff you're not keeping?

2) Good luck finding a 5.0 in decent shape, with a frame that hasn't been twisted up, at anywhere near the same price that you can buy a 4 cyl. and do the swap

3) I, personally, have fewer qualms about hacking up an original 4 cylinder car than I would about hacking up an original 5.0 car to modify it

Those are just a few of the reasons. If you're looking for a more convincing argument, feel free to IM me at Twisted306Stang on aim.

i agree with boosted. good chance the 4 banger has not been beat on as hard as a 5.0. like he said if your going to mod it your probably going to replace everything at sometime or another anyhow. while your at it how about a big block in that thing, the cool factor is real high on the chart when you open the hood lol
