I work for pep boys, i know i know, but anyway, i just got a 2.3l 87 mustang with manual
trans, the clutch was going so i decided to get it replaced, a days later it smokes, the mechanic tells me its excess grease burning off, well 3 days later it completely stopped moving, so i took it back, they took out the clutch disc, and the lining was completely down to bare metal on the pressure plate side. Well they installed a new clutch, and when i got the car i now noticed a knocking, i asked and he said it was nothing. Well i drove it about 5 miles, and a shard of metal had shot through the oil pan, one mechanic said it was a rod the other said it was a bearing, the oil pan hasn't been taken off yet, but i was just wondering is this their F***-up, thanks.
