Default Need to know some compatible engines

I have a 87 mustang, 2.3L manual trans. One of my connecting rods shattered, and i am looking for engines that are compatible i know the 2.3L from 87-93 will fit with some adjustments. But im just wondering if and how i can mod a 3.8 t-bird or mustang engine to work for this poor thing. And if anyone knows where i can get a engine dropped in philly, lemme know. Thanks

get a crate engine from someone...Ford Motorsport, Coast High Performance...someone reputable with a decent transmission and necessary wiring harness/computer. Forget a 3.8. If you're going to do the work involved even swapping 6 cylinders, you might as well go for a V8 the difference in money, which wouldn't be much different, is not enough to weigh out the satifaction in having V8 power.

But I realize you might not be seeking anything more than a economical commuter. If that be the case stick w/ the smaller engines.
