Question Silly question......

Someone at work asked me the other day if the Cougar & the Mustang share any parts ( frame, drivetrain, etc. ) and to be honest I'm not sure. Anyone know if they do, and if so what or how much they do share ? Thanks !

Do you mean new cougar and mustangs, or old cougar and mustangs? The V6 out of the cougar is not the same V6 out of the mustang. It uses a dohc V6, the same as the contour and taurus. The old cougars and mustangs are nearly indentical except for the sheet metal and some interior pieces.

The current Cougar that is scheduled to be discontinued was based on the Contour / Mystique platform. It was a front wheel drive car and used either the Z-tec 4 cylinder or the 24 valve DOHC V-6 engine used in the Contour and Mystique. The is nothing common between the two cars.
