Seal it, use a rubber plug you can remove in case that is not the cause, could also be the seal around the lens.

I saw that drain area on my new corners too ... I created a little silicone "wall" to keep water from entering like what happened to you. I was just unsure of the quality of the aftermarket clear corners, and was concerned about water puddling in the lenses - so I left it unplugged. But now, water would have to come from the back side - so ... so far so good. I also siliconed the seams instead of trusting the electronic welds. No problems!

Sealing it completely will trap mositure. Is there a way to cement a tube to act as a drain? Even a couple of inches would keep rain/wash water out.
