Unfortunately there's not much in the way of aftermarket support for the Probe, regardless of what engine he has. As far as adjusting the A/F, his best bet would be an S-AFC by Apex. But, unless his car has been modified internally, i.e. cams, head work, higher compression, etc., he probably won't need to mess with it.

Okay, first off, the V6 that comes in the the later probes is the same 2.5 Litre V6 that Mazda uses in the MX-6 (no gain there). Next, I'm fairly certain you can't swap a 3.8 in as it's a 90° V for a RWD application, and the 2.5 used in the Probe currently is a 60° V for a FWD application. It won't fit, and won't work. He'd probably have better luck swapping in a 3.4 Litre SHO V8 than the 3.8 in there (I'm sure that won't work either).

But is it a different between the Mazda V6 that is in some of the probes and the Ford V6 that is in the rest of the probes? cause I have seen that some of the engine that the probe have it has the Mazda name on it,and some have the Ford name.

Not to be rude, but it's not that hard to do a search in Google for stuff like this.

You know, it's a shame too, because in my opinion, the last body style of the probe was a fairly good looking car. It would have been great if they did with the probe what they're doing with the Focus. Either that, or offer it with a 302 option.

Yeah, my buddy had a '98 Probe GTS. It was a pretty cool car. Just too underpowered for the fast looks.

Here's a tidbit of Probe history some of you youngings might not know. The Probe was almost the "All New Mustang." When people caught wind of it being a FWD 4-banger, that's when the letters started to roll into Ford. Needless to say, the Mustang stayed a V8 RWD, and the Probe, well, we know what happened to that.
