Default Subframe Connectors

Hey Team, I got a 95 Mustang GT Convertible.
Subframes are def. a need. What doesn everyone like for brands (aka prices).
I checked most, and they're all expensive. I saw the Steeda weld-ons for $79.99 and the crossbraces for $29.99
I hear Kenny Brown has some? whut are their prices?
Also, while i got your attention. I like to be different. Everyone has MSD 6 and 6A boxes.. whutchall think about the
Crane Hi-6S ignition with rev limiter and coil for $155.95 ?
Crane cams are good anyone know about the ignitions?
Thanx everyone

Default Sub Frames

Hey, I can't answer your question about the ignition boxes, but I'd just thought I'd let you know that I have the Maximum Motorsports subframes on my Stang and I love em. You might want to look into those as well. If I remember correctly the standard ones cost $80. Then you gotta pay someone to install them (that's if you don't know what you're doing, obviously). But yeah, subframes are a great idea. They did wonders for my hatch, and can't imagine the improvement on the vert. Good luck.
Paul

Default Subframe Connectors

I have the Western Motorsports connectors on my car and love them. Check out www.wmsracing.com for more info.
As for the ignition box, the Crane is a really nice piece. Much nicer than the MSD, better service from the manufacturer, cheaper to purchase but not in quality. Plus you do not have to purchase a pack of pills like you do with the MSD. Just my $0.02.

On a convertible you definately need the extra chassis stiffening from high quality full length subframe connectors. I have Global West on my ragtop. Many people speak very highly of Global's full length subframe connectors. They are extremely heavy duty. While these are great subframe connectors, if I were doing it again, I would go with Maximum Motorsports. Very high quality with a much nicer , cleaner fit, and IMO and many others, equally as strong. Whichever set you choose, make sure they are installed and welded in correctly. This is EXTREMELY important! Make sure the chassis is supported and lined up properly before welding begins.

Hope this is of some help. Please keep us posted as to what sub you go with and how the install goes.

I'm getting ready to order subframe connectors for my 97 GT. I was thinking about using either MAC or BBK. How do they stack up against maximum motosports?

I cannot speak for MAC or BBK but IMO, Maximum would be a very good choice. Very high quality products, excellent product and customer support. These boys know what they are talking about. They design, test and develop their own products and maintain very high standards for both. I really like the way MM's subframes fit and mold to the sub frame connectors. Leaves a very clean and tidy install. They offer an excellent price on their chassis stiffening kit which includes subframes, strut tower brace and k-member brace. Again just my opinion. Would be interested in hearing other opinions also.

I'm going with Scott on this one, Maximum!

I have their full length sub-frames on my 91 LX.

Very well constructed. Clear and detailed instructions. Really tighten my chassis. You can feel the difference right away.

Their price is slightly higher, but worth every penny!

I have a convertible, is it true that tubular subframes are the best for my car, welded of course?

Full length subs are the best for converts using the brace under the seat.

The best brand for converts i think would be Kenny Brown.

Default Subframes connectors "101"

Ok, gang. I am dutifully following orders here and have starting shopping for "the first upgrade": subframe connectors. I'll confess....I broke training and have already bought a Hurst shifter but, since I have not received it yet, it doesn't really count as a "first modification". (Anyone buying this ?)

Anyhow, near as I can tell from various illustrations, all the choices appear to be pretty much the same. Hard to tell, though.

Anything is particular I should look for?

I notice some of the offerings have an additional piece which attaches to the seat bolts (or somethng like that). Is this significant and/or essential?

Thanks in advance,
Doug Dwyer
