Question Pulling to the right.

I was out to dinner with my woman tonight and I noticed something... My car pulls to the right while I'm accelerating.
I only noticed it when I was in 4th gear at about 3000rpms. For instance, if I downshift from 5th and hit 4th at 3000rpms and floor it, the car will pull slightly to the right. I've never really noticed this before. I tried it in several different areas since I first though it might be the road.

The engine is stock, the original 11 year old shocks and struts are still there. The only mods I have done recently are subframe connectors which weren't done too well (welded them in with the car on a regular lift rather than by the wheels).

Is this caused by my worn suspension or could it be that my subframes have the unibody tweaked out? By the way the alignment seems ok, the car tracks perfectly when I'm cruising.

Do the old bump test to see if the 'shocks' need replaced.

Bounce up and down on the bumper or fender on the corners of the car. If it bounces more than one time after you stop bouncing the struts, or shocks, need replaced.

I'm guessing that one strut is weak and allows greater contact, and therefore more friction/drag, than the other side. The result is a pull to the offending side.

This is all assuming the car is indeed in alignment and that you know torque will tilt a car in one direction causing the same sensation you describe.

I've heard Viagra will cause this....

I was originally thinking it may be a combination of torque and bad suspension. I only have a CAI, BBK LTs, Hpipe, Magnaflows, and bumped timing. Now that I think about it, the little power from those mods combined with the stiffness that my subs gave is probably making my old shocks/struts more of a workout.

With only those mods I lose a few inches of road visibility due to the front of the car lifting/back of the car sinking while WOT.
I guess I should start looking at struts/shocks and do some springs while I'm at it.

This is just the excuse I was looking for to dump more money into my car. After all it is just a hole in the road that I throw money into a few times a month.

More than likely, it's your leaf spring bushings. When you accelerate, one spring moves slightly rearward, probably the left side, causing your car to pull to the right.

I'm already on top of that. Most likely Illuminas. I'll do springs and cc plates at the same time.

Leaf springs?!? You mean control arm bushings? If so, I'd like to do my rear lower CA's and get some MM replacements but just don't have to dough at the moment. It's on my list though
