Question Stops Running!!!!!!!!!

Ok, my 95 will run fine untill it gets up to temp. Then it will surge and die? I have a 331, s-trim, msd ign. Can or could it be the msd box?? I really am pissed at this one!!!! I had the car running great! Spent hours tunning with the eec tuner and everything was fine!!! I drove it today about 20 miles, went in to get something to eat and then when I tried to start it, it would run but then it dies!!! Had the car towed home, then tried to start it up and it was fine. Drove it about 3 miles and it died again!!! Can anyone help out with this???

THANKS!!!!!!!!

could it be an EEC setting that you overlooked? possibly something with temperature fuel mixture?

I have taken the MSD box off and used the fatory ign. Also tried the coil! What really bothers me is that I have not messed with tunning the car for about 3 weeks because it was dialed in perfect!!! I drove the car for about 3 weeks solid and now this just popped up??

with surging before death that means its still getting just enough of something and then not enough.. kinda like it runs out of fuel. Hate to make it sound simple...but have you changed fuel filter recently? you couldve probably sucked up some of the rust and crap that likes to sit at the bottom of the tank... or perhaps a bad tank of gas? Also have you done a tune up recently.. On some of the cheaper brand wires they can get too hot, and actually send the spark back up the wire.
If it was working fine after the eec tuner i would probably rule that out...but its possible... does it have a reboot feature where it sets it back to factory settings? that could tell you if it was it or not.

that sounds like it.. I dont have experience with them so i cant say for sure, but some people on here do.. I am ok with computers and usually its ground, electrical connection or drivers... since you dont have drivers.. I would guess the connection..

Its possible...does it have an auto-shut down if it gets too hot? perhaps that temp could be set too low.. or maybe the program itself gets too hot... Im helping the best i can... this aint my field.. im tossing Ideas until a pro helps ya out..

Remove the board and clean the connectors, maybe moisture got there and you have a bad connection.

Ok, I have taken the eec board out and I still have the problem??? What sensor/s would shut the engine down?? The motor acts like it is not getting gas?? But fuel pressure is good and pumps are working ok? Would the o2 sensors do this? MAF? Or could the computer on the car be going out?

Ok sounds like an closed loop situation.
In closed loop once the engine comes up to operating temp the computer looks at inputs from the map, ect-engine coolant temp, ict intake charge temp. tp throttle position . From there it makes decisions and controls output devices, fuel injector pulse width, total timing etc, etc.

If it runs go when cold, the car is in open loop. The computer has a set of pre burned values for the engine to run on until it warms up and goes to closed loop. I would guess that a sensor has gone bad. Is there a check engine light on? Can you monitor all of the data on a scanner to check if anything looks suspicious? These are just suggestions for you to think about. Good luck

Can You change these values with the EEC-Tuner? Or I guess I should find out the problem first (by changing the sensors?) before I start messing with the tunning?
