Default 5.0 problem

Just purchased a 84 gt 5.0 mustang and have found some golf tees in some of the vac lines and have notices a loss of power when just tooling down the road in 4th or 5th gear, sorta like I'm running out of gas, but I've got plenty, seems to bog down when I punch it, at any speed, after I put it in neutral and rev-it it seems to be fine for a while.............the car was purchased for 2800 and has a new paint job lots of interior work and many things done to the trans, cooling, and suspen. I didn't notice any of these problems when test driving the car and still feel I got a great deal. but its one of those as is type of deals. Any ideas.......... would really help.

Do a complete tuneup: filters, sensor cleaning, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fluids, etc.
Also check for vaccum leaks.

Default Runs strong in the upper rpm's

No smoke since I've owned it, but the guy that sold it to me said it did smoke a few times but hardle noticaby when he started it to show & sale. It had been in storage for almost six months. I don't really know for sure but it wasn't smoking when I got it or for the last 5 months.

Car has been running strong. But for over a month the power loss has started up but only in the low rmp's.
Strong in the mid and upper rpm's, can't track this problem.
Now it is dragging in the mid range and acting as if it's out of gas, but picks back up after I rev in to the upper rpm's.

I've replaced the wires, & dist. cap /rotor.
Ran as good or better than before the wire change & cap change.
So I cleaned every thing, checked all plugs, oil/fluids were good.

Now this................So my plan is check timing, fuel filter, PVC, all vac. lines, dial in the carb. check fuel to see if its contaminated from setting for almost three weeks. then work from that point, to fuel pump, etc., etc,.

A few lines are disconnected so hook then up and see why they are un-hooked. Just start working things out. The car is the bomb, cared for and restored very well. So I think I did very well for 2800,...........he spent 2200 on the paint alone,.........he traked every thing he did. Paint, engine, parts cost, interior, exterior, etc, etc, etc
