Question who makes the best shorty headers?

Who makes the best shorty header?..MAC, Ford Racing, BBK, HOOKER?
..and what is the best selection for a naturally aspirated 94 gt 5.0L, equal length or unequal length. I heard that if you are not making big horsepower equal length headers will hurt performance, is that true?

unequal are harder to install and work with but produce slightly better performance, but if you are willing to sacrifice a horsepower to make life easier, like most people are, go un-equal. dont worry about exhaust on a stock motor, the only thing you should do is get new mufflers or cat back, use the money on better things like gears and heads, but hey its your car, your call. good luck!

I think Robert meant to say "equal (not unequal) are harder to install and work with...."

Go with the unequal length shorties. There is an old thread that beat this one to death....look for it and you'll find a variety of opinions on brands, coatings, etc.

Go with the FFRP shorties. They are the only ones that I know have the stock 94/95 style collector cup which is much better than the 87-93 style collector cup. The opening is much larger because it does not taper down and cone in nearly as far as even the aftermarket 87-93 ones do.

And like most guys already stated just get the unequal versions as they make life so much easier.

well...i wouldnt bother putting them on really, you need to get a cat back and h pipe first because you arent going to feel any difference or hear any difference, but whatever.

anyway...id go with unequal and get a 1 1/2" primary tube because it will make more low end torque than the 1 5/8" primary, but you probably wont see any gains anyway so it doesnt really matter i guess.
