Interior Panel armrest screw striped, how do i get it out?

I've got an 88 GT, which a 93 interior. I'm trying to remove the drivers side interior door panel, but one of the screws in the arm rest refuses to come out, so I can't remove the panel. It will twist (not REAL easily,) both ways, but won't come out... I even tried pliers (which was hard, cause it's in a deep hole)

Any suggestions?

Would a counter tap get it out? Go to home depot and get a set, I've had great luck with them.
