whats the biggest size tire can i put on my 17*8 rims? is 275 too big for it?

275s are a bit too wide, it depends not only on the width but the profile, a smaller profile, say 40 or 35 will be better than using a 275/45, i would try/test a 275/40

I had 275's on my 17x8.5 wheels. That was pushing it. the tires were 275x40x17. I don't think you can go over 265, but hey, give it a try.

I have 275-40/17's on the rear of mine. theyre tight, but work fine.

I have 255-45-17's... If I went any wider, the would have bulged quite a bit... You'll get better traction/handling with a 245 or 255 on a 8" rim.

We have had to sets of 275/40/17 on 17X8 wheels on my son's 90. No strange tire wear, no problems. They really should be on 17X9's, but they will work on 8's.

i got 17x9's and i was wonderin how large i could go....ive heard 275 is the largest but im greedy and want em bigger
