Question Larger tires in the back, smaller in the front?

Hey guys,
I always see people on dragways with larger(let's say 200 or more) in the back, and smaller ones in the front(like 185 or less) .. is that street drivable, could I do that on my 2.3L, what are the pros and cons of doing it? and I wouldn't think of changing size(14" in the back and 14" in the front) else suspension has to be changed etc.. and should I put 15" on a 2.3L, I'ld like to go get 15" alloy wheels form an LX 5.0L

Default These are the serious 1/4 mile guys..

...unless they are just for looks, but folks at the strip can tell the difference.

One thing you did not notice is the roll cages in these cars as mandated by the rules for cars running in their class. The wheels and tires are designed to be light in weight and this increases rapid transfer of the weight to the rear tires as well as lowering the weight of the whole car. Their rolling resistance is considerably less as well.

Weight reduction is as important as horsepower in a serious race car.

Yes, you can run a similar combo on the street and it would look cool, but your cash is better spent elsewhere.

ok thanks, i wouldn't think of doing it until next year or so.. I am looking for weight reduction, for 3780lbs on the LX.. don't really want to remove the AC and stuff.. I want to keep it stock.. jsut make it faster on teh accel(auto ) and still look good and be drivable!
