If i were you I would go to the local tire shop and ask them, they could give you a better answer then any of us.

A 7.5 inch rim ! I am no expert but I would have to say a 215 would be near the limit. You could try 225 but it would probably feel a little lose in the corners.

Yes. 7.5" fits perfectly the 225/55/R16 Goodyear Eagles LS. A 7.5" mag wheel is what Ford uses for the
Deluxe Coup, Premium Coup and the Pony Package w/ the polished aluminum (my Mustang).

I'm inquiring how much larger a tire will fit approprietely on that size rim.
I figure there are countless numbers of Stang owners who have knowledge by now how much bigger you can go.
It seems you can go at least one more step wider.

Sorry, I cant give you first hand experience.

But don't forget to keep your overall wheel diameter the same so that your speedo/ground clearance is not altered. Your 225/55-16 is about 25.74 inches

If you went for a 245/50-16 it will be about 25.65 inches where as a 245/45-16 is almost an inch smaller at 24.68 inches.

alot of that depends on the tire. and side wall thickness. Like i said go down to the tire place and ask them about it. no harm in asking.

I'm leaning more and more towards that size. It's starting to make more sense weight vs. mass wize.

On my 01 V-6 stock wheels (16") I had the stock 225/55vr16s...and went with BFgoodrich G009s sized 245/50vr16..I like the look alot...same height as the 225s, but definitly looks better with the wider stance.
Next will be springs to drop it a bit....I used Tire Rack charts to determine the maz size.
Good Luck

I'm running 245/50R16s. I'm having no problems whatsoever.

hey tire sizes, i am running 225/60/r15's on the front of my stang and 235 75/r15's on the back, on 15X8 inch rims, both tires fit on nicely, the 225's are what came with the car, lol i fried the back tires within a month and they were good tires, any way the backs rubbed on one side on my exhaust, so i have a dent in my exhaust to accomidate this, but i wouldn't recommend going much wider than 235's on the back, not unless u make sure it won't hit ur exhaust, or u move it
