Default Programming remote for 02 Mustang

I just found one of my extra 02 Taurus remotes.
I only have 1 remote for my Mustang and I would like to program this to be used on it.

Can someone tell me how I can program the remote?
Also, do I have to reprogram both?

Any issues I might run with the keyless/keypad entry unit that uses the same frequency?

You will need both remotes at the time to reprogram them. Cycle ignition switch to run then off eight or ten times the power locks will cycle up then down. With the key still in the run position press a button on each remote and the locks will cycle to idicate whether the reprogramming took hold. Earlier Mustangs required shorting a jumper connector to enter the reprogramming cycle. If the Taurus remote doesn't seem to work with the Mustang call your local Ford dealer service department and they should be able to tell you if the remotes are compatable.

As Long as they are from the same year model. The should adapt to the sam frequency in the GEM module.
I used one from a 2002 exped on my 02 mustang. It programed just fine. But you will need to cycle the key about 8 to 10 times.
