Default 91 Explorer gas vapors

Yeah, it's not a Mustang, but it's still a Ford and I need some help. For some reason, my Explorer smells like gas whenever I turn the heater on. Any ideas? I mean, before it wasn't too bad, and now it's almost getting intoxicating. I mean, I love the smell of gas as much as the next person, but now it's just getting terrible. And when people drive in the car with me, it's f*ckin embarassing! Plus, now I have a new lady-friend and I really don't want to scare her off because my car smells like gas everytime we go anywhere. ARGH!

Check to make sure you don;t have a hole or leak in your gas tank or fuel pump, when you turn your heater on it sucks in air from around your vehicle, mainly infront, so if you do have a leak all of the vapor fumes will get sucked in your vehicle. Do you notice the smell of gas when you have your window down ??? Also, It's very bad for you to have that blowing into your ride, Almost as bad as exhaust.

It's because of either the Carbon Canister or the valve that runs it. I just don't know how to test the valve.
