Default How hard is it to change the speedo gear on an AODE ??

I have finally got my new speedo gear for the 3.73's I put in a while back. How hard is it to change it on an AODE ?

Tell me I don't have to drop the Transmission

Where is it and what do I have to do ???

Thanks

the speedo gears go from your gauge cluster to the top of your tranny in the back. I don;t think you will have to drop it. It all depends on how low your car is or how high you can jack it up. It is kinda tricky to get a wrench in there.

Apparently its not too hard

Quote:
jack up the car and get under the driver's side.
slide under there and look towards the back of the tranny, close to where the driveshaft slides in. you'll see part of a harness going to a black sensor that's held on the tranny by one small bolt.
take that bolt off and you can pull the sensor out easily.
just pop off the clip holding the speedo gear on the speed sensor, toss on the new gear, with the clip and then put it all back.
