I heard the T5 from a 94 cobra won't fit in a 87 Notchback, I was wondering if changing the bell housing to an older year, and getting an old year's tail shaft would work. The tail shafts from different years just bolt up right?

Well, they have a longer bellhousing and input shaft. I'm guessing that would also be a problem.
