Default So I hit a brick in the road... (plus a question)

Not just any brick, but a decorative garden brick that fell out of a truck as it hit a pothole. It bent the crap out of my rim and my tire exploded.

I made the mistake of ordering a 17x9 wheel to replace a 17x8 wheel. Will it be safe forthe short term to use the 17x9 with my other17x8 wheels? I figure I'll slap it in the back and it won't matter for now.

Now I have two choices and I want your guys' opinion...

I can send the 17x9 back and buy a 17x8 wheel but it will cost me extra shipping and all that crap, or I can keep the 17x9 and buy another 17x9 for the rear. Do you like tihs idea or would it be so unnoticable that it's not woth the extra 150 bucks.

Also I ordered a 245/45/17 tire to go with the 9 inch, this should be fine right?

Keep the 17x9 and order another one. Put those in the back (of course). You could also check ebay.

That's a sweet ride, BTW. Love that color. 17x9 bullitts would look sweet in back.

You might need some time on a frame rack. I got in a similar situation with a muffler once, no way to avoid it without causing more damage than clipping it with the drivers front. It caused a repairable bend in the lip of my rim, thank god, my rims are hard to replace and very pricey when you can find one. Anyhow, I could not get it into alignment specs afterward. A trip to the frame shop showed it had bent the frame enough to keep it out of spec. A couple of pulls on the frame, and $75.00 later, all was right with the world once again.

I would get the wheel alignment checked. The secondary angles, a good alignment rack would find, would tell you if you bent something other than your wheel

"repairable bend" That's what I was thinking. Maybe your wheel is repairable? Give Stockton Wheel a call,

They were able to repair my son's discontinued wheel when everyone else said NO WAY!
