3.8 engine conversions

can a 2000 mustang 3.8 engine be swaped out for a 4.6 v8 or any other more powerful engine and at what modification

Its a lot of time and money. Unless you are really good at working on your car yoruself your going to pay someone quite a bit to swap it. I had a customer in last week who wanted to do the same thing. But he did not understand the fuel lines, drive shaft, wiring, computer, etc.. all have to change. If you do want to do it and your in So Cali, I know a motor swap shop that can do it but your looking about $2000-$4000 dollars in labor. I wouldnt do it, most of the engine swaps that I have seen are half assed

When you said that you will spend a lot of money having a shop swap it, what kind of prices are you looking at? I mean in general. Because i know you said $2000-$4000 dollars at a local shop near you. But in general does it usually only cost $2000-$4000 dollars?
