Exclamation Snapped bar under car

Ok, I'll make this quick, I need to know what the bar that runs under the axle?, runs from left to right below everything like a U shape, well this has snapped/broke and the slightest bump in the road and it sounds like the car is about to fall apart, I need to get this fixed but have no clue what it is called when I try to do a price check, ( Mustang GT convert 97)

Humm the description of the mettal bar is hard to explain, it is a U shape from left side to right side under rear axle and looks like it is welded to the frame ( it looks just like the one that goes across the engine near the wipers) thats about all I can think of to describe it, it''s below the axle and slightly lower than the exgauhsts .. any help on what this bar is called or if it is bad that it is broke would be gratly appriciated.

thanks

Are you talking about the rear sway bar?

Sounds like the anti-sway bar to me.

LIMP, or get towed to the nearest service center.....or get a replacement ordered NOW. Don't be drivin' around with that thing swingin' in the breeze. Snag it on somethin' and watch your rear end get torn assunder.

If there were two other major problems such as this, best to go over the rest of the car with a fine tooth comb. To have an anti-sway bar snap in two is fantastical. I've never heard of it happening to anything that wasn't totally abused in many other ways.
