Angry leak under drivers side

my 97 gt just started leaking hot water onto my foot. I think it is the heater coil? any suggestions? it also fogs the windshield when the motor is not running?

check the passenger side floor board is it wet? Normally when the heater core leaks it will run more to the passenger side also do you smell antifreeze (if any is installed)? Also check inside you hood on the passenger side firewall there is a drain tube about half way down is anything coming out there?

If it is your heater core leaking you will over heat when the water drains out (imagine that ) It is about a 8 - 12 hour job to replace it yourself also. Here is a link to a quick article we did that shows you how to bypass it until you can get it done yourself or by a professional.

Default heter core

I did my heater core myself. My car has AC. I let the steering column down. Removed dash pad. Removed the 6, or 8 (maybe a few more) bolts/screws that hold the dash assembly to the fire wall. I did not disconect any wires. I did however remove my front seats and console. There was then enough room and slack in the wiring harness to tilt the dash assembly away from the firewall to get to the heaterbox and remove the leaking heatercore. I also wiped down as much ducting as I could get to with 409 before reinstalling everything. Keeping my fingers crossed, its been good for 7-8 years now. Get a good a good replacement, I went brand new from Ford. Some of the aftermarket recreations were made from all those junk cars we sent over seas. By the way, you will not have to drain all the fluid from the engine, but remember that the core will probably have a bit of coolant still in it. I laid down a bunch of absorbant towels before disconnecting. 4-5 hours to do it in my backyard, good luck.

Well , what else could it be then ? There is a smell in the car that kinda smells like something died ewwwwww .. just noticed it yesterday.
The car is having a fog build up on the inside windsheild.
Its not over heating and it is running good no weird noises or anything. Any suggestions?

if its a sweet smell its probably antifreeze... if its a sour dead smell perhaps a rat got trapped in the blower motor.. its happened before..
