The shift pattern on the 4R70W seems to be set up to produce the most economy, period! There's no way that it should shift into OD at 35mph, but it does. My advice is to do as I do and that is to use the button on the shift handle and disable the OD until you get up to highway speeds and then enable it with the button. When I get back into town again, I disable it. Once you've done it a few times it will become natural to you. Most auto owners do this to avoid the low shift speed problem. Also, if you're going to pass, it's a good idea to shift out of OD if you're really going to lay into it. When your speed is back to normal, enable the OD again. This avoids the
trans possibly shifting into OD while under a lot of power which is not desirable for band life. Of course, you would have to be going very fast for the OD shift, but these things do happen!
