Default Is this bad?

Ok today i broke my dip stik, wasnt paying attention when i was putting it in (more interested in the guy telling me about someone trying to break into cars around there...including mine) anyway the dipstik went in a bit and i cant seem to find anyting small enough to pull it out at them moment (atleast until i get payed anyway) but i have to know is it bad to have end of the stik 4 maybe 5 inches below the top of the tube.
thanks

not sure what year your mustang is, but all you need to do is unbolt the oil dipstick tube from the valve cover or drivers side exhaust header, and just pull up a bit....that will release the tube from the oil pan. With that done, reach down by the oil pan and grab what's left of your dipstick....clean up the dipstick tube, put a little black silicone on the end of it, by the raised ring "bout 1" up from bottom of tube", reinsert the tube, then reattatch it to the original spot and insert a new tube.....you will be good to go........
