Need help with Air Conditioning! Well, this summer my A/C decided that it would stop working and take a nice extended winter break. Unfortunately I want it to work and we have a problem.
The A/C clutch is not engaging. I have checked the fuse under the dash and it is fine (same one that goes to the dash clock). The Low A/C Side Pressure is around 100 PSI!!
I then connected the Air Conditioning Pressure Switch (two wires - connected both bypassing actual switch). This caused the Air Conditioning clutch to come on and the air conditioning started to work and blow very cold. After a few minutes the Low Side PSI dropped to just above 25 on the gauge.
Now the question is:
Is the Pressure Switch bad? or is the pressure to low? or something else?
Before winter everything worked great. After - it didn't want to work at all.
My father thinks that the PSI is too low for the switch to be activated. But with the car running and a/c on the compressor isn't engaged and the low side reads around 100 PSI.
Any suggestions?
