Default Code Reader/Scanner

A friend of mine is going to the US next week and I want her to pick me up a Code Scanner/Reader for a 1995 Mustang GT coz you can't buy them in Australia. To make it easier for her, can someone tell me the following :

- Whats a good brand and model to buy ???
- Where do you buy it from ???
- How many US dollars do I have to give her ???

Thanks all.....

well tell her to go to any autoparts store.. pepboys, napa, autzone, discount auto, whatever it be.. and ask for a code scanner for Ford,Lincon,Mercury. its for the EEC I computer, not the OBDII(96-02 stangs) they cost around 22-27 dollars. ide give her $30 to be safe. Actron makes a good one, thats the only brand i know of, any brand will work fine, its just a code scanner.

Actron does make a nice, basic scanner. And it's for an EEC-IV, not an EEC-I processor. $30 is about right.

I agree on the Actron scanner. Works ok.
