Question Looking for common mod FAQs

I was just wondering if anyone knew of some FAQs/walkthroughs on common mods.

Like removing the silencer from the airbox.

are you looking for common mods like cold air inductions, exhaust, etc? or free mods like you mentioned air silencer, etc?

Both, either..

Most enthusiast sites get sick of repeating themselves, so they put together the common stuff. Just wondering if there was one for Mustangs.

Thanks!

allot of people ask how to install a new rear gear. this instalation is not for a backyard mechanic, due to the specific tools needed.

Yeah I wouldn't try that, but say a cat back exhaust?

I have installed new exhaust on my motorcycle, Is it easy to do on a car?
I ahve access to a lift and good tools.

What do you think?

anything bolt on isn't hard... mainly a matter of access... If you have a lift and the tools... a cat-back will be a breeze... its 4 bolts (usually) and a matter of getting them in right.. over the axle and all..

Default Cat back install

So there are no gaskets or sealing done on a catback install?

You just torque the bolts to spec?

just gotta make sure your flange isnt bent so that you get a good seal... The only gasket on the exhaust system is on the exhaust manifold to h-pipe... you will want to re-use it because they are hard to find. the days of the pipe-flange gasket or "donut gasket" are quite extinct.

Talking Perfect, thanks

I think I am going to do it myself, for nearly the same price as mufflers installed at a shop, I can buy a whole catback and do it myself....

Default Excellent

Good write ups for cold air intake and underdrive pulley installs! This is what I was hoping for... Thanks.

How about a write up on removing the air silencer -- not so much doing it (easy) as the theory. I'm curious what it does both for performance and side-effects (it makes air noisier???)
