WARNING: High performance brake pads I will be installing a new set of brakes on my 95 GT, my front rotors are starting to crack and several friends that use performance pads have the same problems with theirs. All of the cars are 98 and earlier models.
Seem like at least "Performance Friction" Street/Strip and racing pads heat the rotors too much and will kill them after a few years.
This could also happen with other performance pads used with the stock rotors which seem not too good at handling the extra heat generted with agressive driving and using performance pads.
So, if you have stock rotors stay away from Carbon-Metalic or simillar pad compounds as they will ruin your disks in a short time.
Please tell us if you have experienced the same, it could be a very important issue as more people start buying performance pads.
