Default air conditioning the biggest scam!!!!!!!!

air conditioning the biggest scam!!!!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i took my cobra to three service shops. they all told me stupid crap like your a/c clutch is spinning in my hand so you might need a new compressor, wtf....... can't you just replace the clutch only. other shop said oh your dryer is bad might need a new one with new hose's.....wtf........ last one oh yeah your car has not been retro fitted for r134...........yes it is!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told them to just refill my refrigerent and if it doesn't work oh well i'll just lose $50 to $70 bucks.........but there like oh we can't your car has problems with a/c..........

long story short..........the forth shop i took it to. they hook up the r134 machine serviced my a/c and checked for leaks........and now i have nice cold air for little under $56 bucks.............

i hate mechanics that try to take advantage of people

a bunch of thiefs

a/c compressor with clutch ......(new)500 bucks or (reman.) 180 to 250 bucks
a/c clutch..............................130 bucks
dryer.....................................25 to 40 bucks
not to mention what the would charge me by the hour to replace and repair my a/c...................

they love to tell you oh......your compressor clutch is not engaging on..............duh.....i have no freon.....it won't kick on cause its on the low side......

Sorry
I HAD TO
RANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would've took the cobra to ford, but my pockets aren't that deep right now.........

I hear you... Luckily I have a cousin who's a mechanic... I think every family needs one!

Best one he saved me on was my 86 Jeep... It had the straight six with a plastic valve cover that was known to warp and leak... well, mine started leaking... dripping oil on the clutch so I HAD to get it fixed and like right now! So I take it over to him. He shows me in the Mechanic's Bible where it says that to get to the 2 back bolts that are tucked way in there YOU HAVE TO PULL THE ENGINE OUT! WTF! To change the valve covers??? Yep, the book called for something like 8 hours labor! Had I taken to the dealership YOU KNOW they would have billed me for the 8 HOURS! My cousin says "Watch this.." Takes a big pry bar and ever so gently press the motor down ever so slightly... just enough to get an socket on bolts... needless to say he changed out the valve cover in about 10 minutes.... The guy at the dealership would have done the same thing but would have charged me 8 hours just like the book called for... Got to love it...
