Default Help! Flowmaster question!

Yesterday, I had a 40-series flowmaster muffler put on my '05 v6. Sounds great in all ranges, except for the dreaded "drone" at about 2300-2400 rpm. I called the shop that installed it, and they said adding a resonator could cut the drone "significantly." I called flowmaster, and they of course said, that going to the 50-series would help a lot more.

Does anyone have a 40-series with a resonator? Does it help cut the drone? Or am I going to have to fork out the dough to redo the whole thing. I really don't want to do that if I can possibly avoid it.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks. I think I am going to give that a shot first. If it'll just knock out some of the noise at highway speed, that'd be perfect. That way I can keep that deep, rich sound everywhere else. From what I understand, the 50 cuts the sound back a lot, inside and out.

Thanks again.
