sorry i am new but i am helping a buddy with his stang.how can i tell what rear end i have.is it the 7.5 or the 8.8.it is a 89 lx 4 lug.also how where do i fill the axle at.there is no fill plug on the cover.thanks

HI,

What engine does it have? 5.0 or a 4cyl. The v8's have a 8.8 rear end in them. and there should be a plus somewhere on the housing of the diff area..

it was a 4 banger but it has been converted to a 5.0.where would this plus sign be?

was the rear end change too. if not sure, should be a tag somewhere that will say the rear type.. I can't remember we the plus is at, but if there no plus unbolt the cover to drain the fuild..

ok how do i refill the rear axle.i cant find a fill plug?

the fill plug is on the front side of the diff housing using a 3/8" ratchet and short extension
