Default Throttle cable???

hey guys, im new to the forum so whats up to everybody......i recently bought a 2002 silver mustang v6 3.8 liter.....it only has 20k miles on it and is in perfect shape.....but theres one problem....my gas pedal is very low and hits the floor mat and it prevents me from lifting up quick enough to hit the brake....i checked it and im pretty sure its because the throttle cable is too loose.....i mean, i can literally lift my gas pedal up to where its supposed to be and then i let it go and it flops back down....my friend told me i need to get a new throttle cable or i need to get this one shortened....i have no idea how to shorten it or any of that.......i checked under above the pedal with a flashlight and i can definatley tell that the cable is too loose.....it is definatley not pulling at it the right time.....so any suggestions on how i can get a new one or this one shortened would be appreciated....

Sound like you need a new throttle cable...

There is a mod to raise the gas pedal. Go to www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/ctips.htm.
