"Does anyone know if stock cats are straight through or baffled?"
Cats really are more straight through than anything. For those who have never seen inside one, what it looks like is a small muffler with a very fine honeycomb brick inside of it, about 100-150 holes per square inch. (I have a chunk of cat brick right here... I just didn't measure an exact square inch). The size of the "bricks" vary, and honestly I'm not sure what size they are on mustangs, I just know the newer ones have 4-6 of the dang things. Geez! My Camaro had ONE! (Well, for a while, now it has none

) But the bricks on the camaro were about 4X2X2 and there were 2 inside one housing. But also keep in mind thats on a Y-piped single exhaust. If you hold on up to a light, you can actually look through them, but only at a perfect straight angle.
That help at all?
