engine stalling

I have a 88 LX with a 302 with edelbrock top half intake, heads and f303 when I get into it hard and let off the gas it stalls. I've been told that I need to install a fuel pressure regulator and turn the pressure up. Do anyone any other ideas what the problem could be please
