Default Edelbrock water pumps- are they dependable?

My water pump is about to take a dump on me, and I'm thinking of replacing it with an Edelbrock. Can anyone tell me if it is worth the money? Or should I just stick to the FoMoCo brand?

Edlebrock is a good brand, I dont expect them to make crap... unless you are talking electric water pump you probably wont get more flow.. why buy the more expensive one tho? The Fenco's from auto parts stores have a lifetime warranty and cost less.

I got lucky and actually got a FoMoCo w/p from kragen with a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, this is about the 3rd one that I've replaced. Maybe it's because the car sees 3000 to 3500 RPM's daily to and from work.

Anyway, that is why I was interested in purchasing a w/p with a higher capacity flow.

why dont you go electric? like Meziere? they have an idler pulley so you dont have to change belts.. but they are electric driven so you gain back 10 HP and it doesnt matter how fast you go, it keeps up with you. the flow rating is higher than a manual pump too...

Thanks Vortex. I'll look into the electric w/p. I can always use more power.
