Default antifreeze question?

I want to flush out my system, is there any particular brand of antifreeze that works better, or are they all the same. What about the thermostat, any ideas on that. 97 gt ,stock. Thanks!

Keep your stock thermostat, go with zerex antifreeze, this is what everyone recommends.

I personally use the house brand.. but if its not a national chain, use Zerex flush and Zerex Antifreeze. As far as thermostats I believe most places carry Robert Shaw.. again, the house brand is fine...keep the stock temp.. or drop it to 180... no lower.

Yes, helps with the cooling not as mush as just water and water wetter but I don't want to change coolent twice a year. You need antifreeze for the winter.

If you want less mineral deposits (which are caused by regular tap water) cycle a few times with just Distilled water, than drain add 60% distilled water 40% coolant and 1 bottle water wetter.

Been doing this for 20 years now and never had a radiator or cooling system problem
