Default Which to you think would be the best setup??

Alright ya'll I need your help... I currently have a 95GT 5.0 without many mods. I have been working and saving up my money and soon it will be time to do some wild things with it, but I can't figure out exactly what to do.

I want a true street car that can handle, brake and accerlerate. One where you can take to a road course and tear it up, and still run a quick 1/4 mile. I am shooting for 600 - 650hp, and about 650lb/ft tourqe. I am looking at some type of crate or stroker motor, because I am pretty sure the stock engine with 90,000 would not be able to handle it.

Here is where I get lost, should I go with a bigger CID and milder power adder, or go smaller CID and larger power adder? Then should I use a turbo or blower.( I read the thread but don't know which would work best in my setup)

Or should I sell the 95, buy a '03 Cobra change the pulley, heads and gears and go with that??

I used to think it was going to be easy when I got ready to do this, but there is just soo much out there, I am not sure which way to go.

All opinions welcome, and thanks in advance for the help.

If you're really interested in such a beast, you might want to come check out Brandon's GT at one of the Tri Cities Mustang Club meetings (link in sig.). He's got exactly what you're looking for.

Now to answer your question...

You won't do that with a stock block. I'd go with a 351 based stroker at that power level as it'll cost you around $3000 (as per Bennett Racing)for an R302 block and the prep work you'd have to do it. Top that off with a good set of heads and intake along with a custom ground cam from Cam Motion, FTI, or Bennett.

For the power adders, once you've been in a turbocharged 5.0, you'll never want anything else. Get in contact with me and I'll see if I can hook you up with Brandon so you can check out his car and get a chance to ride in it.

For a complete setup including the fuel system, guages, etc. you're looking at right around $5000.

It doesn't really matter if you go with a single or twins. We've got guys in our club with both and both of their cars are insane. They both make full boost at absurdly low rpms and they both pull bus lengths on me at highway speeds.

I've been doing a lot of research into turbo setups for a while now, and these guys have the nicest looking turbo kit I've seen so far: http://www.proturbokits.com/

I'm currently saving for their street kit...looking to go with either a T64E or a T72.
