Smile Help with light pull knob coming off

I just purchased my first car, a 99 v6 mustang. A small problem I have is when I pull the knob for the outside lights to come on. When I do this, the black knob part just pulls out. This seems like it might be a common problem as it happens on my dad's stang too. On mine, the knob seems to have detached completely from the dash.

Does anyone recommend a way of fixing this such as a type of glue, or some other method?

Thanks

I wouldn't glue the headlight knob on coz you will have a hard time trying to get it off later !

There is a metal clip inside that holds it on. Make sure that has not been bent otherwise it will not stay on.

Other than that buy a billet one off eBay

I looked at it more closely, and the metal clip is a attached onto the metal rod sticking out of the hole in the dash. Inside the knob, there is nothing that keeps the clip attached to it. So, when I pull, the knob just slides off of the clip and the rod and clip stay back in the dashboard.

Thanks
