Default Mustang Newbie!!!! Got my first one, time for performance upgrades!

Hello everyone!!!

I am new to the site and new to the mustang world as a whole! Recently I bought a 2007 ford mustang V6 with the pony package and an upgraded flowmaster exhaust. The exhaust was installed when I bought it. I am working on purchasing a BBK CAI and a new set of headers. NOW my question for you guys is, would you recommend getting shorty headers or long tube?? The only "issue" that has come up is that I live in an area where I am required to pass emissions testing, so would installing aftermarket headers, long or short force me to remove the catalytic converter (which would fail an emissions test)?? Thank you guys for whatever help you can offer!!! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Longs generally are not OK with emmisions, you can install a shorty mid pipe with cats however make sure you can use Long Tube headers in your area. On that note, if you can always go Long Tube as they offer more power and a better sound.

If long tubes do not pass, than leave the headers as is, shorties generally are just a waste of $$
