Question Differences in 1987 to 1993 5.0L mustangs?

I have a 1991 mustang (worn down, bent frame, rusty)... and want to buy a better condition pre-modded (read: supercharger or bigger engine) mustang of body style 1987-1993.

I know there are a few differences like from 1990 and up there was Mass air metering or something... but can't remember all the differences (or very accurately )

is it worth getting a 1987-1990 mustang? or should I mainly be looking in the 1990-1993 range?

sorry if I am an idiot

Thanks
