Default Need Help with a Ford...

I know this is not a Windstar forum, but I really need some help and you guys (and gals) have always been good to me.

So anyway, I need to change the alt on the Windstar. I can not see anyway to get to the tensioner to release it and get the belt off! I also have to get the bolts to come loose... I am letting some WD-40 sit on them hoping it will make its way in and loosen them up some.

On a Mustang related note... I did have to replace the selonid (sp?) today. That way the easy thing to do!

Thanks for any help I get!

Sometimes the Alternator bracket is what tensions the belt. Im not too sure but try loosening up all the alternator bolts and you might just find the belt coming off. Also try and find the belt routing sticker somewhere under the hood, that will tell you how to take the belt off.
