engine swap in 67 conv.

I just bought a 67 mustang convertable in very bad shape. All sheet metal and frame parts are bad. But thats the stuff im good at. I dont know much about fords drivetrains though. I has an old staight 6 and 3 speed with it( not running or even in the car). But my neighbor has a real nice 94 crown vic. he only wants $700 for. Does anyone know if i can swap this whole drive train,or should i start hunting for a 5.0 drive train. thanks k3gf1

5.0 drive train would be much easier.

Both of my classics were originally V8 cars. I have a 66 coupe as well as a 66 fastback gt that is undergoing restoration. Although I know this has been done before,I'd suggest finding a wrecked 87-93 5.0 mustang.You can convert it to EFI and plus have either a manual or auto overdrive trans.I can lead you in the right direction about doing this.You just need to find the parts.
