I have been looking for a new manual transmission to put into my car, a 1966 Mustang. It currently has a 302 and an automatic. I came across this transmission on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4625219497. I placed a bid of 1500 and was quickly outbid. Today, I got a notice saying he would take my offer of 1500 because the first guy flaked. Should I do this? Thanks for any and all help.

`66 Mustang? If that trany that you have, is the original one, I'd rather be rebuilding / upgrading this tranny. Keep your classic stock!
#'s matching is worth way more!

If you want to buy something for fun, buy a 99+ GT manual trans. If you buy one with 100k+ miles, you can get those for about $5K!

Turned out the guy was a deadbeat and tried to scam me. But if my mustang was anything near #'s matching, I would keep it that way. But when I bought it, it was far from that.
