Angry 89 LX Door will not OPEN !!

Hi,

I have an 89 LX Convertible that recently had a broken drivers side door handle and could only be opened from the inside.... so.. Replaced the door handle w/a replacement from Auto Zone...and all was ok... but... after only one day of use, the door would barely open if really pulled on from the outside door handle and not at all from the inside.

Removed the door panel (again..) and lubed all parts... got the outside handle to release the door latches, but cannot get the the inside door handle to release the latches. I did not bend the rod, and the pull latch operates normally.. but will not release the door mechanism.... what am I missing here??? BTW.. the power door lock actuator has already been removed..... Even when I reach the lever that the door pull rod operates, I cannot move it enough to release the latches... it is acting as though the door is locked... but if that were so, I don't think I could open it from the outside. Do these mechanisms operate seperately?? Any help/suggestions would be most welcome.....

Thanks in Advance....

Dan

I misunderstood. Did autozone fix the car, or did you buy the parts and fix it yourself?
