Default Just bought new pony rims, now which brand tires?

I just bought brand new 16x7 pony rims. Which brand tires should I get. I want something that will give me good traction. Also, I think I am going to get 245/50/16 tires. Is that good or can I get a little wider than that? What are you guys running on pony rims?

I'm really not to worried about the price. I have a friend that owns a tire and rim shop, so I can get a great price. I'm not really too sure if I want to get drag radials. If I was to run drag radials on a daily driven car would I run into any problems?

I've been told 245's fit. But if I look under the car, the rear tires are already close to the tailpippes. My friend has 245's on his ponies and it doesn't rub. I hope it doesn't rub on my car.

depends on the offset of the rim if they will rub or not...

Try the Kumho Ecstas Supras, they are outstanding tires. They are a very aggresive unidirectional tire that is V or Z rated I think and they are about $85-$100 each, closer to the $85 range but I just want to cover myself. My brother got some and he loves them. In addition, my friend has 245/50/16's on his pony rims, and he doesn't complain of rubbing. They definitely look awesome though.
